A native of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Jones had a promising career as a model before she decided she wanted to see the world--and not just Milan and Paris. Soon after high school, she joined the U.S. Navy, and was on a runway of a different kind--that of the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan. An assistant navigator on the vessel, Jones did everything from driving the 97,000 ton vessel to helping chart its course. Toward the end of her enlistment, Jones's life made its own course correction, when she was selected to appear in a Navy recruiting commercial directed by Peter Berg. The experience acting in the spot, titled, "The Shield," ignited a spark within Jones, who began taking acting lessons. After her honorable discharge, Jones began working almost immediately in Hollywood, receiving numerous acting and modeling projects. She earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism from California State University, Northridge. Jones is an alumni of the Writers Guild Foundation’s Veterans Writing Project and the Native American Media Alliance TV Writers Lab. She is a proud member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma.
